The sufferings and hardships of a true servant
of Christ are merely slight, momentary afflictions in comparison with the
eternal weight of glory that awaits (2 Cor. 4:17). The corollary is also true: the self-sought, fleshly glory of those who preach a false
Christ, a false gospel, is only slight and momentary whereas the suffering of
such a one will be eternal and weighty (2 Cor. 11:13-15).
Those calling themselves ministers of the gospel should decide whether they want temporary afflictions now and eternal glory later, or temporary glory now and eternal affliction later. Paul doesn't seem to think glory now and glory later is an option servants of the gospel are given.
